|Class: This is an introductory course to the field of nutrition. We will explore the basics of food, how our body uses food and how society views food. We will build a foundation of science and use it to discuss hot topics, food trends and relevant current issues. |
The class will utilize content from the book, research articles, videos, class discussion and application.

Instructor: Alicia Brown works full-time as the Health and Wellness Marketing Manager at Market Street / United Supermarkets. She received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX and a Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Nutrition from Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. She became a Registered Dietitian (RD) in 2006.
