Student Taylor Smith evaluated the effectiveness of bactericidal silver-containing fabrics (PI : Dr. J. Lawson) .
This project aimed to evaluate preservation techniques in order to study genetic variations in ferns (PI: Dr. N. Rich)
The cDNA partial sequence of the alpha subunit of the Na/K pump was examined to compare the molecular phylogeny of several invetebrate worms (PI: Dr. C. Doumen).
Students evaluated current CCD photometry data with previous studies related to this particular star ( PI : Drs. G. Sherman and C. Aars).
The main purpose of this project was to investigate the robustness of the SSD discretization method regarding noise using different gene regulatory network data (PI: Dr. D. Potter).
The experiments used an electrochemical technique to determine the concentration of acetaminophen in Tylenol (PI: Dr. G. Chaka).
The study focused on lemongrass oil extracts, which exhibited strong antibacterial properties (PI: Dr. D. Cain)
The purpose was to design containers where dimensions are optimized to minimize cost while volume is maintained.(PI: Dr. V. Antohe)
When thinking about our Research Faculty, please consider the fact that our Faculty do this without compensation and purely out of the love for science. Our gratification is to share our experience with You, the aspiring science student. We do not have many faculty members involved, but those that are involved have the qualifications and background. We are talking about PhD's with first hands-on experience in the lab and who have published their research via peer reviewed papers and book chapters. We are unique in that we, a Community College, offers you the opportunity to become involved in the collection of new data, aka research in the real sense of the word. Our faculty scientists have excellent qualifications and a genuine drive to get you, the interested student, excited about the joys and frustrations that are part of the methods of scientific discoveries. The only garuantees we have is that you will become part of that initial scientific journey, be it small or large, be it succesfull or the start of another series of questions in our scientific inquiries.
With your work and dedication, we will be able to populate this Gallery with new and exciting research. We apologize in advance for the limited spots availble in CASMNS. Teaching is still our #1 business and our free time is limited. So don't take these spots for granted: they are a rare but valuable commodity. The CASMNS Faculty.
