Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course the student will be able to demonstrate mastery in the following areas: goal-set= ting, time management, textbook marking, note-taking, preparation for tests, and test-taking.

Course Requirements: Attend class as scheduled and complete the required tests, and f= inal examination, and any other assignments as required by the instructor.

Method of Evaluation: Only AD, BD, CD, FD or IP can be awarded in this class. Grade will be earned f= or the semester based on performance in the following areas:=

Pl= ease remember that a “D” cannot be awarded for this course.

Attendance Policy: Students are expected to attend cl= ass regularly, and also to arrive on time.&nbs= p; A student is allowed no more than three (3) unexcus= ed absences, and each absence will lower the final grade by 4 points. Each unexcused absence beyond t= hree (3), may result in a grade of “F” for this class. If a student is late or leaves = class early three (3) times, it will count as one (1) absence.

Final exam<= /u> - A comprehensive departmental final exam is REQUIRED for all students at the end of the cour= se (NO EXCEPTIONS). The Final Exam must count for at least 20% of the final grade.

Assignments – Daily assignments may be giv= en. These assignments will be from the textbook and/or outside reading. Absences will not be accepted as an excuse for not having completed the assignment on time. Every assignment must be completed. Homework is accepted at the beginning of class. It is the students’ responsi= bility to turn in any missed work upon returning to class.

        &= nbsp;    CELL PHONES MUST BE OFF AND OUT OF SIGHT DURING CLASS. IF YOU HAVE A LAPTOP FOR NOTETAKIN= G AND ARE FOUND TO BE USING IT FOR A PURPOSE NOT RELATED TO THIS CLASS, FUTURE COMPUTER PRIVILEGES IN THIS CLASS WILL BE REVOKED.

Cheating is the willful giving or receiving of information in an unauthorized manner du= ring an examination, illicitly obtaining examination questions in advance, copyi= ng computer or Internet files, using someone else’s work for the assignm= ents as if it were one’s own, or any other dishonest means of attempting to fulfill the requirements of a course.

Collusion is intentionally aiding or at= tempting to aid another in an act of scholastic dishonesty, including but not limited to, providing a paper or project to another student; providing an inappropr= iate level of assistance; communicating answers to a classmate during an examination; removing tests or answer sheets from a test site, and allowing= a classmate to copy answers.
