Homework Assignments
The professor will assign homework from the text. the principle for this assignment is that practice is crucial for mastering the material. Students will be required to do only the odd-numbered exercises for credit. Homework will be due at the beginning of each class. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS ACCEPTED. If you miss a class where the professor has assigned homework, then you will miss receiving a grade for that homework assignment. [You must be present in class to receive homework credit. Likewise, you cannot come to class, turn in your homework assignment, and then promptly leave and receive credit for the work.] Your grade will be determined mainly on the completion of the assignment rather than doing all of the work correctly.
Exams
There will be three (3) one-hour long exams during the term. The exams will be hour-long exercises covering the material from the beginning of the course and/or the preceding exam up to the current exam and will not be cumulative. The three (3) exams will be worth 30% of the course grade. See the Class Reading Schedule/Calendar for the dates for exams.
The Final Exam will be a 2-hour long exam and will be cumulative in nature. This exam will be worth 30% of your final grade.
