Course Description:
Explores various methods of improving study skills and habits, including;
time management, note-taking, textbook reading skills, test preparation,
problem-solving, group project work, learning styles, and memory improvement. Each student will
examine their own personal habits that may hinder college success.
Make sure you have a copy of the
syllabus and course
outline.
Please print off and turn in a

and the Student Commitment page, if you have not already done so.

 | Three-ring binder, spiral/notebook paper, highlighter, pen. |
 | NO cell phones or earpieces for any listening devices allowed during
class time. |

Important
Notes: 1. Check the homework page each week to make sure
that you are up to date and are ready to hand in assignments on time.
There are several assignments that you will need to print off and complete
on your own.
2. Make sure and use the appropriate chapters for your homework.
3. Groups for the group project are assigned in class. If you have not
yet signed up for a group and exchanged contact information with your group
members, please do so next class period. Make sure and check out the
presentation rubric so your group understands the expectations. Each group member will fill out a
Group
Project Questionnaire and hand it in on the day of the presentation. |
