Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Management

Welcome to the Health Information Management and/or Medical Coding and Billing Certificate Program. The HIM Profession is growing by leaps and bounds with the implementation of EHRs (Electronic Health Records) .  There are numerous opportunities available for students after graduation.  The classes in the program are offered online and are credit courses that students can take on a full time or part time basis.  The fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks in length with the summer session being 10 weeks in length.  

For more information about Health Information Management, please go to the program website;  The AAS Program in Health Information Management is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education. Students in the program can join AHIMA for the discounted student rate using the Collin College Education Program Code. 

I am an Associate Faculty for the HIM Program and am the faculty for several of the Health Information Management classes.  I am a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with many years of experience in the health care profession.  My HIM work experience includes acute care hospitals, consulting, quality assessment and physician clinics.  I have also been a HIM Faculty since 2007 at Collin College.
