Four levels of guitar classes start with the basics and continue to more advanced techniques:

• Class Guitar I (MUSI 1192 generic syllabus)
• Class Guitar II (MUSI 1193 generic syllabus)
• Class Guitar III (MUSI 2192 generic syllabus)
• Class Guitar IV (MUSI 2193 generic syllabus)

Beginners start with Class Guitar I, but students with some experience may start from the second level, Class Guitar II, with the director's permission. Class Guitar III and Class Guitar IV are for the advanced students who have finished the previous levels.

There are two Guitar Ensembles at Collin College:

• One O'Clock Guitar Ensemble (MUEN 1137S01)
• Six O'Clock Guitar Ensemble (MUEN1137S70)

In these courses, students will be assigned a part and play along with other students who have different parts (voices). Audition is required for the One O'Clock Guitar Ensemble, but the Six O'Clock Guitar Ensemble is open to anybody interested in playing in an ensemble.

Private lessons are for advanced students, guitar majors and minors. In private lessons, students get individual guidance on everything about guitar playing through technical exercises and pieces. There are .two levels of private lessons:

• Concentration Applied (MUAP 22XX generic syllabus)
• Secondary Applied (MUAP 11XX generic syllabus)
